Only Favoring His Wife C1

Only Favoring His Wife Chapter 1 Betrayal

In a grandiose hall, Lin Yang's gaze was fixed on a man seated serenely on the sofa, and he sneered, "Second Young Master Qin, I suggest you sign this contract, or else I might have to..."

Before he could finish, the individual on the sofa cut him off ruthlessly.

"Well, you went through all this trouble to bring me here. What could possibly compel me to ink this contract? I'm genuinely curious," retorted the man on the sofa, who was none other than Qin Mucheng.

"Qin Mucheng, whether you sign or not, you'll have to. And as for the reasons, why don't I introduce you to someone first."

With Lin Yang's words, a bodyguard entered through the door, restraining a slender man. The man appeared pale, raised his head briefly to look at Qin Mucheng, as if he wanted to say something, but ultimately remained silent.

"How about it? He's the person your father arranged for you. You wouldn't let him perish, would you, Second Young Master Qin?" They exchanged knowing glances.

"Since you know this, you must also know he means nothing to me," Qin Mucheng replied calmly.

"Of course, I merely used him to gauge your reaction. It's just that he's been in your service for years. Your callousness is astounding. However, I didn't intend for him to sway you. There's another individual you need to reconsider."

Lin Yang gestured with his hand. This time, two bodyguards ushered forth a well-groomed gentleman.

"Ah Cheng, I apologize," the gentleman quivered as he lifted his gaze.

In that moment, Qin Mucheng's expression shifted subtly, a glimmer of surprise flickering in his eyes as he asked with a stern tone, "What's happening? Why are you here?"

"Why? Because...

He's a vital bargaining chip for me to secure your signature on the contract," Lin Yang explained as he approached the gentleman.

"Originally, if he had peacefully remained in the residence you provided, I wouldn't have been able to 'persuade' him to come. But who could have anticipated that he'd rush here upon hearing my call about your supposed peril? No, he came willingly. I wonder, Qin Ershao, are you satisfied with this arrangement?"

"Acheng, I'm sorry. It was my fault that you got involved..." Liu Mingxi, the handsome man, cried out with red eyes. "Forget about me; I don't want to drag you into this."

A heavy silence hung in the air, thick with tension.

Finally, Qin Mucheng spoke, "Alright, release him. I'll sign the contract, Lin Yang."

"Master, please reconsider. If you agree, the consequences could be disastrous!" Concerned voices surrounded Qin Mucheng as people tried to dissuade him.

"Ah Cheng, don't listen to him..."

"No need to say more. You're mine, and it's my duty to protect you."

With resolve, Qin Mucheng grabbed the pen, sweeping his signature across the page.

"Here it is," he said coldly.

"I didn't anticipate you'd go to such lengths for your beloved compared to your wife. It's quite surprising," Lin Yang quipped as he had someone collect the contract. He examined the name of Party B with a smirk.

"However, by signing this contract, weren't you afraid I'd use it to leverage your Qin family's downfall? I believe you must have a strategy since you dared to sign it. We've been friends for over a decade before today. So, now that you're here, don't backtrack; otherwise, it'll disrupt my plans."

Following his words, a sudden surge of people closed in, brandishing weapons aimed at Qin Mucheng.

"Hmph, if you intend to kill me, you'll have to see if you can succeed," Qin Mucheng retorted. Without completing his sentence, he sprang into action, delivering a swift kick to a bodyguard, producing a silenced pistol from his pocket, and charging toward Lin Yang. Both sides engaged in a frenzied exchange of gunfire.

Witnessing Qin Mucheng's rapid advance, Lin Yang swiftly shoved Liu Mingxi aside and sought cover.

Qin Mucheng took charge of Liu Mingxi and inquired, "Are you alright? Any injuries?"

"I'm sorry..."

Qin Mucheng winced, lowering his gaze to the fluid oozing from his abdomen. Liu Mingxi gripped a dagger, its silver-white blade stained with crimson.

Qin Mucheng pushed Liu Mingxi away, clutching his wound, his cold countenance etched with disbelief. He stared at the figure before him, questioning, "You and he conspired against me? For what purpose?"

"I apologize, Acheng, I... I can't... I didn't intend to..."

Liu Mingxi clutched the knife's handle, his words disjointed.

"Good job, Mingxi!"

In that moment, Lin Yang interjected, "Qin Mucheng, do you have any idea how long I've been planning for today's outcome? Do you want to know why? Because?"

  1. Hi! Thanks for translating! This is very comfortable to read on a phone, but I can't find a desktop version of the site. I tried several ways, but even in the reading mode it's very narrow and in bold.
