Only Favoring His Wife Chapter 10

Qin Mucheng hesitated to respond to Bai Yiyan's words this time, pondering deeply:

After experiencing such a betrayal, can I still trust someone ? Perhaps Ye Yunjin... Ye Yunjin seems like a trustworthy option, otherwise, why would he...

"Alright, don't you have other things to attend to? Hurry along!"

Observing her son's silence, Bai Yiyan assumed Qin Mucheng still had concerns, prompting her to believe that this matter required a gradual approach. Consequently, she encouraged him to depart.

Upon hearing Bai Yiyan's words, Qin Mucheng understood her misinterpretation of his silence but opted not to elaborate. He simply replied with a "yes" and then returned to the living room with his mother.

Upon their return to the living room, Mr. Qin remained engaged in conversation with Ye Yunjin. Qin Mucheng stepped forward and remarked, "Grandpa, there are still matters to attend to at the company. We should head out."

Upon hearing his grandson's words, Mr. Qin didn't insist on his presence. He ceased his conversation with Ye Yunjin and gestured them to leave. Then he added slowly, "Alright, take care on your way back. Yunjin, if you ever have free time, come visit this old man for a chat."

"Of course, Grandpa!" Ye Yunjin replied with a smile upon learning that Qin Mucheng was about to depart. He got up and walked over to stand beside Qin Mucheng.Accompanied by a smile, Mother Qin escorted them to the door and remarked, "Mucheng, Yun Jin, take care on the journey. Mucheng, make sure to drop off Yunjin and then head to the office alone, alright?" Her final words held a certain command in her gaze.

"I understand, please head back indoors quickly; it's chilly out here!" Qin Mucheng replied, unable to ignore his mother's concern.

After witnessing Qin Mucheng and Ye Yunjin drive away, Bai Yiyan turned and leisurely strolled back to the living room.

Observing Mr. Qin seated on the sofa, she approached and inquired, "Dad, Mucheng and Yunjin have departed. Would you like to return to your room for some rest?"

"No, please stay with me right here!" Mr. Qin responded with a smile. "Today, when I saw Mucheng, I couldn't help but sense that something had shifted, but it's a positive change."

"I agree. During our conversation earlier, when we discussed Yun Jin, he didn't display the same resistance as before," Mother Qin added, joining in with a chuckle.

"I hope these two young ones will be all right. By the way, Yuhan will be returning to China soon. I wonder what kind of commotion she'll create!" Mentioning Yuhan, Qin's mother couldn't help but wear a helpless smile.

"Yes, that girl has harbored feelings for Mucheng for many years. When she discovered he was with someone else, it brought her to tears," Mother Qin remarked.

"It's likely this incident prompted her return this time," Mr. Qin added with a smile, mixed with a sigh.

"Yuhan is truly a wonderful child, but it's unfortunate that Mucheng hasn't had the same fortune. I hope she finds a loving home in the future, but her father... alas, seems overly driven by profit," Mother Qin lamented.

"Dad, there's no need to be overly concerned. The path one chooses is their own. Chen Zexin made this choice, and he will bear the consequences, whether they are positive or negative. As long as our Qin family exercises caution," she reassured.

"You're absolutely right; I tend to overthink. When it comes to Yuhan, let the younger generation handle their matters, haha!" Mr. Qin chuckled.

As for the Chen Zexin mentioned by Bai Yiyan, he serves as the chairman of the Chen Group. Both the Chen and Qin families hold prestigious positions among the aristocracy. However, if one were to compare, the Qin family holds a slight advantage, largely thanks to the presence of the remarkable business prodigy, Qin Mucheng. In just a few short years of leading the company, Qin Mucheng propelled the Qin Group to a higher status than most other families, including the Chens.

Though Chen Zexin may outwardly maintain a friendly facade toward the Qin family, it's abundantly clear that he harbors undisclosed ambitions and intentions concerning the Qin family.

However, Ye Yunjin remained oblivious to all of this at the moment. As they left Qin's residence, an inexplicable discomfort settled upon him in the presence of Qin Mucheng, seated beside him in the car.

Consequently, the atmosphere inside the vehicle remained just as silent as before, albeit with a subtle shift. The car's speakers remained muted, as Ye Yunjin grappled with the dilemma of not knowing what to say. He sat obediently, fixating his gaze straight ahead. Yet, if one were to observe closely, they might discern Ye Yunjin's occasional sidelong glances in Qin Mucheng's direction.

Out of the corner of his eye, he caught glimpses of Qin Mucheng's focused driving. However, he didn't notice that Qin Mucheng had already noticed the glance he had just made.Growing up as the meticulously groomed heir of the Qin family, Qin Mucheng had always been attuned to others' observations of him. However, even though he couldn't fathom why Ye Yunjin was surreptitiously glancing at him, he had no immediate intention of addressing it.

On the contrary, he found Ye Yunjin's behavior rather intriguing—a facade of anticipation while covertly stealing glances in his direction. Strangely, Qin Mucheng felt an inexplicable sense of gratification stirring within him.

In this moment, Qin Mucheng remained unsure of the significance of this feeling, but...

Observing Ye Yunjin slip into deep thought once more, he suddenly found himself at a loss.

At this time, the cause behind Ye Yunjin's secret glances towards Qin Mucheng, followed by his brief bewilderment, stemmed from his recollection of the recent events at the Qin residence. He had not anticipated that Qin Mucheng's family would not harbor any dissatisfaction upon meeting him, but instead, they had left him with a rather unexpected impression – one of kindness.
